Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy

Mahavir International Delhi ("MID", "we", "us", "our") is a charitable, non-profit organisation. Payments made through this website are voluntary donations or contributions towards our charitable programmes, camps, and services, and are not payments for goods or services in the ordinary commercial sense. This policy explains our approach to cancellations and refunds of such payments.

This policy was last updated on 07 August 2026.

Nature of Payments

Since MID is a not-for-profit organisation, amounts received through this website — whether as general donations, sponsorship of a camp, cataract surgery, "Netra Daan - Maha Daan" pledge, equipment sponsorship, or any other campaign — are treated as charitable contributions. As these funds are typically allocated to ongoing programmes soon after receipt, donations are generally non-refundable, except in the limited circumstances described below.

Cancellation of a Donation

You may request cancellation of a donation only before the payment has been successfully processed and confirmed. If your transaction is still pending or has failed at the payment gateway, no amount will be debited, or any amount debited in error will be automatically reversed by the bank or payment gateway as per their standard timelines (typically 5–10 business days).

Once a donation has been successfully processed and a receipt has been generated, the donation cannot ordinarily be cancelled, as it is committed to our charitable activities.

Eligibility for a Refund

We will review and may approve a refund in the following situations:

  • Duplicate transaction: If you were charged more than once for the same donation due to a technical error.
  • Incorrect amount charged: If an amount different from what you intended to donate was debited due to a technical glitch on our website or the payment gateway.
  • Unauthorised transaction: If a transaction was made without your authorisation, subject to verification and your bank's own dispute-resolution process.
  • Failed transaction with amount debited: If your bank account was debited but the donation was not registered as successful in our system.

Refunds are not available where a donation was made correctly and voluntarily, simply due to a change of mind.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us within 7 days of the transaction date with the following details:

  • Your full name and contact details used at the time of donation.
  • Transaction ID / payment reference number and date of transaction.
  • Amount donated and the payment method used.
  • A brief description of the issue and, where available, supporting evidence such as a bank statement or SMS/email confirming the debit.

Refund Processing Time

Once a refund request is received, we will verify the transaction with our payment gateway partner and our records. Valid refund requests are typically processed within 7–14 business days of verification. The refunded amount will be credited back to the original source of payment (the same card, bank account, UPI ID, or wallet used for the transaction). The actual time for the amount to reflect in your account depends on your bank or payment provider and may take a few additional business days.

80G Receipts and Refunds

If a donation receipt or 80G tax-exemption certificate has already been issued for a donation that is subsequently refunded, the receipt/certificate will be treated as cancelled and cannot be used for claiming any tax benefit. You will be required to return or destroy any such certificate issued to you upon approval of the refund.

Camp Registrations and Appointments

For any nominal token payments collected for services such as camp registration, health check-ups, or appointments (for example, under our "सब को भोजन" or camp initiatives), cancellations made before the scheduled date/camp will be eligible for a refund of the token amount on request. No refund will be made once the service has been availed.

Failed or Disputed Transactions

MID is not responsible for delays or failures caused by your bank, card issuer, UPI provider, or the payment gateway. If you believe a transaction was processed incorrectly, we recommend you also inform your bank or payment provider, as their dispute-resolution timelines and processes will apply alongside our review.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Return, Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, payment partners, or applicable law. Any changes will be posted on this page along with a revised "last updated" date.
